I purchased a home that has 2 ideal mounting spots for access points, that are also already wired with PoE (power over ethernet). I am in the process of choosing my router, modem, and method of broadcasting wifi. I originally wanted to use Google wifi, but then read that PoE is more reliable than mesh wifi. Since it's already installed, I am trying to compare getting 2 access points, a router & switch vs just using Google or Nest wifi.
One question that I have is, could I connect the Google wifi points or the Nest wifi points to the PoE? Can they be powered by PoE? Would having a PoE connection in 2 different spots of the home plus the Google or Nest wifi router cause any issues? Would they all connect and be considered the same network? Where the mounting spots are located, there is no nearby power outlets. Could the power be split out and directed to the devices so even if the hardwired internet is not used?
I need to make a decision quickly, as the internet needs switched into my name. However, when it is switched, our smart home will suddenly be paralyzed without internet. So I need all my ducks in a row and ready to set up BEFORE I switch the service.
Thank you. I know some of the forums cover bits and pieces of this question, but the answers aren't in a format that my layman brain can piece together. Any help would be appreciated.

PoE would require a splitter to correct power plug.
Nest Wifi can be used with wired backhaul too, not just wireless mesh/ wireless backhaul. Seems like this is something you'd want. The important thing here is to use unmanaged switch(es) only, without any loop prevention features (STP).
Also, just to be sure you know, Nest Wifi primary puck will act as a router, with firewall, NAT, DHCP. So no need for an additional router. And if the modem has router funtionality, it should be bridged to avoid double NAT.
