Google wifi wired connection to nest wifi router

Hi everyone,

Compleet noob here, but I need help.

I have the following setup.

Modem has cable going to Nest Wifi router.

Nest wifi router has cable going to switch.

Switch has 2 cables going to Google wifi points.

However it seems like the wifi points are only connected with the Nest router by wifi and not by cable. I can't seem to get them to form a mesh network using the cable. How do I fix this?

Thanks for your time and help.

Hi @Rogier79

Are using an unmanaged switch?
You should only use a real "dumb" switch to get this working. 😊

Hey Rogier79,

I had the same issue with my access points about a year ago. There were two things I tried that both worked for me. First, you can try rebooting them and see if that works. Second, you can try leaving them alone for a couple days. They may eventually recognize they're wired and switch over by themselves. Hope this helps.

What connection type does it show in the Device settings of Google WiFi routers? Is should be Wired. Also have a look into Device/Network mode in Network settings - it should be NAT mode for Nest WiFi and Bridge mode for Google WiFi. Try to reset Google WiFi routers and re-add while they are wire-connected.
