How to increase wifi speed with ATT/Sonic Fiber Backend

fostercitydude
Community Member

6 Google Nest Wifi Pucks, All Wired Via Ethernet (replaced previous Google Wifi pucks to solve problem, no change)

Speed test from Google Home puck hardwired to modem, 800down, 800up

Speed test from modem itself, same

Speed test from multiple locations over wifi, 20 down, 100 up, very consistent readings day after day.

Switched to pass through everything from modem to Google Nest Wifi main puck, no change

Interestingly, wifi speeds were significantly faster down when I had Comcast Business service.

I strongly believe this is a configuration problem between Google defaults and ATT Fiber.

Any tricks I haven't tried already?

What can I run to help debug this issue?

Thank you in advance, people of the Interweb.

Hey, fostercitydude.

We have an article on things you can do in order to improve speeds across the mesh network. Take a look at that here: https://bit.ly/39GZJfD.

If you've ran through the suggested steps and still aren't seeing expected or satisfactory speeds, let me know and we can look deeper into the particulars of your setup.

Thanks.
