Internet stops

My internet stops randomly. The only way to get it going again is to reset the modem. My internet provider is trying to blame my google mesh router but when the internet stops, I have bypassed the router and plugged the modem directly into laptop and still no internet until modem is reset. New modem, same problem. Could this be a router issue?

How do you have your Google Mesh system connected to your ISP modem? Normally bridge mode is the best way this way you remove the ISP modem features DHCP, NAT etc) from the equation and allow the Google router to handle all those functions. The fact you connect the ISP modem to the laptop directly and it still doesn't connect to the internet seems to indicate there could be an issue with the ISP modem. I simple way to check would be to leave things connected as you currently have them and just start rebooting the ISP modem once a day - just get a cheap timer or if you have a wifi plug set it up to reboot during the night - if doing this corrects the problem then either just keep doing this or report back to your ISP the steps you've taken and see if they will exchange your modem.

Thanks for the advice. I'm not real tech savvy soooo......I don't know what bridge mode is but I'll look into it.   The ISP finally sent out a repair tech. He says he found a ground issue at the
"Plate". What ever that is. It has been 2 days and internet has not stopped so maybe that was it. They had replaced the modem on a previous visit and updated the firmware remotely. neither of those things helped the problem.

It looks like you have things working again, which is great news. Right now, I think we should see if it stays stable for you. Hopefully things are all fixed.
