Iphones won't connect to devices while I'm away from home.

I am the main account tired to my Google home wifi. When I travel out of town for more than a few days, two iphones in the house can no longer connect to several apps while on wifi. My Samsung smart TV also has connectivity issues.

Thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry to hear that you're having an issue with your devices. I'd love to know more about this and I have a few questions:

 

  • When did the issue start?
  • have you checked if there are paused devices on the Google Home app?
  • Aside from the apps that your devices can't connect to, can they access the internet?

The issue has happened several times. Usually within 2 days of me leaving town. Netflix appears to work as well as normal internet. Disney and prime video seem to not work at all.

Sorry for the late reply here, but I wanted to come back and see if you're still seeing this issue. Also, are you getting any network offline notifications from the Home app or any other alerts when problems occur? Is there any pattern with the disconnects, such as time of day or anything you know of?

If you're still seeing the problem, let's get this worked out for you.
