Is OnHub purposely causing problems?

We have two OnHubs one primary and one meshed to it. They have worked fantastically since we got them back around the time they first came out.

Now, coincident with google ending support for them, we are experiencing incredible slowness, bordering on “no connection”, when it is so slow that message pops up.

I am not sure whether to follow up with Comcast, or blame it on the OnHub and buy a new mesh system. But why would the OnHubs suddenly begin behaving poorly, just because they are no longer receiving updates?

Hey @Pcrussell50 .

I have not heard of any intentional throttling on OnHubs but I suspect that it is due to it becoming more incompatible over time with Comcast since updates stopped on January 11, 2023. Outdated settings will affect connection reliability and makes you increasingly vulnerable to security attacks.

I'd recommend updating to a newer, supported Nest Wifi system and replace the OnHub altogether.
