Is the Google Nest Wifi compatible with 5G modem?

Hi all,

I was thinking about changing to a Telstra 5G network as my current NBN50 experiences a lot of drop outs throughout random times of the day. 

Would anyone know if the Google Nest Wifi is compatible with the Telstra 5G modem?

I am currently using the Nest Wifi with 3x additional Wifi points to ensure a full coverage.

Hello @MrMultiGMan 

I can't guarantee it will work, but the general requirement is an Ethernet port for your internet service. I don't believe it supports VLAN tagging for that connection, but I do believe it supports PPPoE. It's not impossible those are used by the Telstra modem, but I would be a little surprised if either of them were. So, as long as the Telstra modem provides an Ethernet port, it is likely that it will work.

Yes, additional help would be nice if anyone else has a similar setup with a 5G modem.

I was hoping we could find some more input from the community on this, but it looks like there's some limited experience among the members. I have seen people get things working fine with the 4G and 5G modems from other providers, but like MichaelP said, I can't guarantee compatibility. With the time that's gone by, have you decided one way or another on this?
