MacOS, iOS and iPadOS devices sometimes have issues with wireless reliability and Nest Wifi because of following settings on these devices:

HTTP Proxy: Set to "none".

Private IP Address (Mac randomization): Disable.

I don't work for Google.

Hi rajupenmetsa,

Thanks for the update.

A few questions: are you using a modem/router combo from your Internet Service Provider (ISP)? How many devices are dropping from the network? Also, do you have any paused devices?

Give these steps a try:

If you're using a modem/router combo, set that to bridge mode to avoid double NAT issues.
Make sure that there is minimal to no interference (concrete, bulletproof glass, metal, mirror, etc.) and the points are no more than two rooms apart.
Remove any special characters in your network name and password.
Turn off IPv6.
Change your DNS server into 8.8.8.8 on the primary and 8.8.4.4 on the secondary server. Hit the save/ floppy disk icon on the upper right.
Unplug the power from your Google Wifi devices for 2 minutes.
If the issue persists, try factory resetting your network.

Let us know how it goes.

Best,
Abi

i am using a modem from my ISP with google wifi  ( 3 points) as the router. usually 3 or 4 devices (iphones, mac, dell laptop) seem to drop from main network and connect back to guest network. When you manually try to log them in, they say password incorrect even though it is correct. Restart of google wifi main router point fixes the issue for a day or so.  couple questions:

- do i set the bridge mode on ATT router ? If so, do you know how ?

- password has special characters. will reset it.

- ipv6 is turned off on google wifi routers. do you mean on the ATT modem?

- DNS server settings: is that on the google wifi routers ?

Thank you so much for all your help.

Hey rajupenmetsa,

You will need to seek help from your Internet Service Provider regarding setting your modem router on bridge mode. Once that configuration has been done successfully, you will need to power cycle your modem router. Just unplug the power, Ethernet and other cables from your modem router and the one connecting to your Google Wifi router for about 2 minutes. Then, plug the power and other cables back in and wait until it's online. You can connect it back to your Google Wifi router and wait until that's online too.

You need to do the changes regarding IPv6 and DNS on your Google Home app. I've attached helpful links you can use as reference.

We're happy to help out. Let us know once you've done all the steps and if it helps with the issue.

Regards,
Abi
