It is a nightmare experience.
Seems like I am the first one trying to do this.
ok, I got some nest speakers, minis and other devices around, but they shouldn't interfere too much.
A brand new Google Wifi Router refuses to add as mesh node and insists on a network cable.
Spent probably 5 hours on this.
A nightmare experience - the product suite is mature?

Hi pkerchner,
Sorry for the inconvenience and thanks for your patience.
To confirm, were you able to add the mesh point? If so, is it still plugged into the Ethernet cable?
Regards,
Mel

sorry - no - all routers (google wifi + nest wifi) worked as connected main router, but refused to be inner mesh node
both systems seem NOT to be interoperable - at least the versions I got
4 days later of testing I sent google wifi back to seller
