A few days ago I startet to get message from the app that there was a number of unknown devices that had connected to my network. This message keeps comming everyday since. I checked the devices and none of them has an IP and they all have uniqe MAC-adresses.
My setup consist of two routers where only one (the main one) is in NAT and the other is setup with a cable for backhauling. There is also two other WiFi points. The main router is also connected to a switch that is connected to various PC's, and two other switches in the house. The other router is connected to one of those switches.
According to the app all those unknown devicest has a "unspecfied" connection and it is connected to the main Google Nest router.
Anyone had this problem or know what it could be?

Yes they show up on the Google app. I can not block them.

Hi staalhermo,
Thanks for the reply. Just to isolate the issue, could you try pausing the devices and check if any of your devices would lose connection? You could click on this link to learn more about this.
Thanks,
Edward

Hi, staalhermo.
The unknown connected device thing has been going on for a little while. Other users have been seeing it as well. There are several reasons why you might be seeing this, the most common is that some devices don't use the same MAC address each time they connect. These devices, usually mobile devices, will use MAC randomization and it will create all kinds of "unknown" devices or long device history lists on your network. Only devices that have your network name and password will ever connect, but sometimes they will list differently than expected. If you are concerned about your network security, changing the password would clear out any connections you're unsure of, but you would need to set up each device with the new password again.
Let me know if you have any other questions or need some additional clarification.
Thanks.

Hi,
I have changed the SSID and the SSID password, and they still keep showing up. Its ALOT of them!

There's still no way to find out what's causing them, right? I'm not sure, but I'm assuming the issue could be the MAC randomization. I know we don't want to call it resolved on an assumption, so I'll keep looking into things until we can know better what might be happening.
Thanks.

Hi, staalhermo.
I just wanted to check back in with you here and see if you're still seeing this happen and to find out if it's been consistent, random, or if it's reduced over time. Let me know if you have seen any changes or if it's stopped happening.
Thanks.
