My Google Wifi AC-1304 is missing the QR code label - what to do?

How can I add the device to my network? I tried this:

But I wasn't able to connect to the router directly from my computer by using ethernet cable.

Any suggestions?

Hey @Anssi .

Can you elaborate on "I wasn't able to connect to the router directly from my computer by using ethernet cable."? Did you get an error? What happened when you tried to make the connection?

Hi @PatrickP_Viking , thanks for your reply.

The computer was connected directly to the router by an ethernet cable, but I couldn't open the http://192.168.84.1/api/v1/status with the web browser. When using the ethernet service, an error said that the computer is not connected to internet. This happened on different web browsers. I'm using default ethernet settings on macOS 13.2.

Thanks for the additional information @Anssi .

Try http://192.168.86.1/api/v1/status instead and see if you can connect. We may need to get the documentation updated.

I tried this, but the result is the same.

On my computers network settings it shows "Self-assigned IP" and a yellow symbol when connected to the router by ethernet cable. But the web browsers still say "no internet" when trying to open http://192.168.86.1/api/v1/status and only ethernet is enabled. I also tried two different ethernet cables and even both ports on the router. Then I made a factory reset for the router but still no change.

Maybe something should be done for the ethernet settings on my computer?

Hey @Anssi .

Check to see if the connection is set as a private network on your computer.

I don't think there is an option for the ethernet connection to be private. Anyways, I finally somehow managed to access the router, but it doesn't show the "psk", only "ssid" is there.

@PatrickP_Viking Do you have an idea of why the "psk" does not show here?

Hey @Anssi .

Sorry for the late response. Did you do a full factory reset on the Google Wifi?

Factory reset your Wifi device

Hey @PatrickP_Viking yes, I did that earlier.

Hey @Anssi .

I'd advise to contact Google Support. I don't have any other ideas that we have not already looked at.

Ok, I'll do that. Thank you for your effort @PatrickP_Viking
