Neat Wi-Fi pro backhaul

Can’t seem to get the backhaul to connect.  Just set them up. Activated all 3 units wirelessly as the instructions dictate. Then connected my unmanaged bridge to the main router. And then connected my upstairs point to the switch.

Hi Maverik259,

Thanks for posting — let's see what's going on.

A few questions: are you setting up another Nest Wifi Pro as a point or is it a Nest Wifi point, a completely different device? If it is a Nest Wifi Pro that you connected to the unmanaged switch, was it already set up wirelessly prior to connecting it to the switch? The other devices that are connected to that unmanaged switch, are they able to get any internet connection?

We'll wait for your update.

Best,
Abi

I bought 3 to replace my Google nest Wi-Fi. So I’m trying to backhaul the router with the point. Yes I set up wirelessly to the mesh system first per the instructions on your site. And yes the other products on the switch are working as intended.

Thanks

Hello Maverik259,

Thanks for the update. Is the Nest Wifi Pro point showing a solid white light? Could you send us a screenshot of your Nest Wifi Pro point on your Google Home app? I'd like to confirm if it's online and if it's under a wired or wireless connection.

Regards,
Abi

Lol. I find this an odd request. Yes it’s working and I have a white light (although I turn it off being in our bedroom and all). Like you think I wouldn’t know if it’s online? The whole point of me asking the question is because I had this set up before and got backhaul to work and show as wired. It doesn’t seem to want to do so for the new pro. I understand these have been pretty riddled with issues since launch though. Also don’t see anyway to “upload” a photo. My apologies as I’m not a frequent user of this forum.

Hello Maverik259,

Apologies for the late reply. Could you try to connect your Nest Wifi Pro point directly to your main Nest Wifi Pro main router and remove the unmanaged switch? Check if it will be listed as wireless after that. I'll wait for your update.

Thanks,
Abi

Sorry haven’t had a chance to do that yet. After I do that what is the next step?

Hi Maverik259,

If it shows as wireless after removing the unmanaged switch, you may try using a different switch instead of the one you currently have. Let us know how it goes.

Regards,
Abi

I assume you mean wired. Either way it worked fine with your nest mesh system. Doesn’t make sense it wouldn’t work here. It’s an unmanaged bridge.

Hello Maverik259,

My apologies. Yes, I do mean 'wired'. What kind of cable are you using for the unmanaged switch? Is it CAT5E or CAT6?

Cheers,
Abi
