Nest 2.4G / 5G

I have a Google Nest model H2D. My modem is a Netgear CM1100. My internet speed is 200MB download and 30 MB upload. When I run a sped test from the Google Nest Router I only see the download speed on the 2.4G bandwidth I cannot verify the 5G speed. When I run the speed test from a 5G device (Microsoft Surface) I see that I am attached to the Google Nest Router at 5G but I do not see a download speed greater than 100MB. The download speed at the modem is 200MB. If I am getting 200MB at the router how do I verify that I am receiving 200MB at the 5G side of the router?

Thanks

Hi EdJ,

Thanks for reaching out. Since Google Wifi is broadcasting both the 2.4 gHZ and 5 gHZ simultaneously using the same network name, we won't know which band your device is connected to. You could try doing a speed test using the Google Home app right next to a Google Wifi point to get your device connected to the 5 gHZ band.

Thanks,

Edward
