I currently have Nest Wifi plugged into a Cable Modem internet service and just added Verizon 5G Home Wireless home internet, powered by 5G Ultra Wideband to the home.
I switched over mobile phones to the Verizon Gateway and plan to test the service for a month or so.
Question: Has Nest Wifi been tested with Verizon 5G gateway? I'm a little nervous of adding a bottleneck to my smart home.

As long as it gives an internet connection through an ethernet cable, it should work with Nest Wifi. You can only get internet from one source/ modem at a time. And changing between internet providers might require a factory reset of the whole Nest Wifi network triggered from the Google Home app, then set up from scratch.

Thanks for your reply.
The Verizon 5G Home Gateway is a router, wifi, broadband modem all in one unit with 2 LAN Ethernet ports.
What would be the recommended setup?

As the Nest Wifi in itself is a router with a firewall, NAT, DHCP, and an access point/ Wi-Fi, it's recommended to set the ISP equipment in bridge mode to avoid double NAT. If that's not possible (search/ ask the ISP), at least disable the Wi-Fi of the ISP box to avoid confusion, as devices connected to ISP box won't be able to talk to devices connected to Nest Wifi and vice versa. That's true for wired devices as well. So add an unmanaged switch to the Nest Wifi router if you need more ports.
