Nest wifi Router wont reset to setup mode

I have had a set of 5 nest wifi routers for several years, all working. Recently I had to reconfigure my setup and decided to start from scratch. After a full reset in the Home-app, I started to install my 5 nests again. All of the routers behave as they should except one. The one in question will not go into setup mode, it just displays a white steady light.

I have tried resetting it several times pushing the button under it as described, but after the reset is done, the light goes steady white, it just wont start setup.

This particular router is not showing up in the home-app.

The rest of the routers are working as they should.

Any tips on getting the router working again?

Hi Goff1,

 

This certainly hasn’t been easy for you. Let’s further look into it. I wanted to confirm if this is how you did the manual factory reset.

 

  1. At the bottom of the router, locate a circle etched into the device, then press and hold the reset button for 10 seconds. The light pulses yellow, then turns solid yellow. When the light is solid yellow, release the button. The light turns solid white for about 5 seconds, then turns solid yellow.
  2. The reset process starts once the light turns solid yellow. It can take up to 10 minutes for the router to reset, so don't unplug the power cord during this process.
  3. When the factory reset is complete, the light on the router is faint solid white. After a few seconds, it pulses white.
  4. Once the Nest Wifi router pulses white, it's ready for setup.

Yes, that is how i perform the manual reset.

It all works until number 3.

The router lights faint white, but it will not start pulsing white.

 

Not sure how to resolve this.
