Is nest wifi router able to connect to dLink powerline wifi? I have a metal garage 50’ from my house and use a dLink powerline wifi to get wifi inside the garage. There are ports that I could plug a router into and would like to know if it would work before buying another router.

Yup, should work. I'd set up the new Nest Wifi unit wirelessly first, having it close to the primary Nest Wifi unit while setting it up. Let it update itself and reboot. When powered on again, pull the power, move it to the garage, connect ethernet cable from the powerline adapter to the WAN port of the new Nest Wifi unit. Power it on, fingers crossed it will work.
More on wired backhaul:
A diagram I made showing how wired backhaul should be set up. You'll have the powerline adapters between the switch and the new Nest Wifi unit (2 and 3 on the diagram).
I'd probably look into disabling Wi-Fi on the powerline adapter though.

Okay I follow the instructions but the router is trying to connect to the router in the house. The cable to the Lan port does not appear to make ant difference. The signal is weak unless i move the router to a room closer to the house which then improved to good. I’m thinking to reset the router and try again with the powerline Lan port and start as if its the only router.

No update because of other priorities. They work but show a weak connection. If and when I figure out how to remedy that I’ll repost.
