Does anyone have a working Starlink in bypass mode with nest wifi mesh?
I was only able to setup the mesh points if I disable IPv6, everything works fine but if Starlink disconnects due to temporary obstructions and comes back online, the nest wifi routers stays offline unless you hard reset.
I spent sometime with google technical support and Starlink but they weren’t able to resolve. I tried a non google router and mesh network and so far no issues. If anyone came across this let me know. Looks like an issue with Google auto recovery mechanism from outage.

I have a google nest network connected to a gen 2 Starlink router, but it’s not in Bypass Mode. I’m using starlinks in-line Ethernet port. It operated flawlessly without requiring any tinkering with settings for the Nest or Starlink for about two months. During initial setup, I just unplugged the Nest router from the old DSL router and plugged it into the starlink system.
Ive read that one must put the starlink router into Bypass Mode when using an 3rd party router but I never did that. I’ve been able to connect my phone or laptop directly to the Nest Wi-Fi network or the Starlink router just toggling as one would between any other networks.
However, today the Nest connection to the internet via starlink failed. I determined it wasn’t on the Nest side because I had a spare nest router to swap with during troubleshooting. The problem was on the Starlink side. For some reason the Starlink router appeared offline in the Starlink app, showing as “Unreachable” . As if it had somehow set itself to Bypass Mode or became otherwise unusable. Oddly, I could still connect to the Starlink router with my phone and internet was fine. So even tho it self-reported as unreachable it was reachable by my phone, but not Nest. I factory reset the Starlink router several times with no apparent change. Then I deleted the Starlink app and reinstalled . Doing so sent me into starlink router setup, I completed setup, and everything returned to normal.
The nest Wi-Fi works fine with Starlink again. I didn’t use Bypass Mode and I can connect directly to the Nest or Starlink routers at whim.
I didn’t think reinstalling the Starlink app would help, but it fixed the issue in my case. I like being able to log directly into the starlink router to view statistics with the starlink app, and otherwise isolate issues that could be within the Nest network. However I wonder if ignoring Bypass Mode caused the problem I experienced.
Im very curious what others have to say regarding OP’s Bypass Mode related question, and if my Not using Bypass Mode is normal or problematic.

It's interesting you have the same symptom, Starlink is online and reachable by phone but not the nest router.
They recommend using Starling in bypass mode but good note to try it in router mode as you mentioned. I have the another mesh network connected now and it hasn't disconnected so far, been very reliable, if it does, I'll try the nest again in the config you recommended.

Hello everyone,
@Shwa, thanks for sharing your helpful experience with Starlink and Google Nest Wifi.
@Munem, we appreciate you bringing this up. I want to check in with you to see if you've ever tried Shwa's suggestion. Let me know if that did the trick or if we need to try something else.
Best,
Lovely

I haven't had any issues with my other wifi mesh network so I don't think I'll be going back to try the Nest.

Hey Munem,
I understand. Since that's the case, I'll be locking this thread for the next 24 hours. Feel free to let me know if you have other questions or concerns. You may also start a new thread at any time.
Thanks,
