No change in netmask or op address

Good day,

Thank you for reading my post.

I installed the Google WiFi and want to change the ip-range and net mask.

In the Google Home app i found the place to change it. After i put in the values i want and press the disk in the right top corner, it seems like it has been saved.

But, if i go a menu step back and forward, the old settings are still there. After i changed them again, and pressed the disk to save the new setting, i went back one step on the menu and restarted the whole wifi.

Also then, no luck.

I need to change the settings. Who can help?

Thank you!

What are you trying to change it to? Address and subnet mask.

It can't be a public IP/non-RFC 1918 address.

I am trying to change the internal IP-range: 192.168.45.x

I also like to change the netmask from 255.255.255.0 to 255.255.0.0.

All changes I make, don't go through and it keeps having the old values.

Roger that. You don't have other devices broadcasting the same metwork adress, like a double NAT situation?

I've read about similar problems in the past. It's a shame that the Google Home app doesn't give proper output and error messages it it fails to save.

A factory reset might help.

I'll escalate the thread.

Yesterday i did a factory reset. Nothing changed.

Even Google support couldn't help 🤦🏼‍♂️

They logged into my router, but were not able to make changes.

If it's a fault in their application, just tell me. I'll wait until it's fixed. But, this kind of companies never admit something is wrong.

It's also worth trying with an iOS device, if that's an option you have. It happens that something works on one OS but not the other, and vice versa.

Thank you and I'll try to find an iOS device.

You're welcome. 🙂

I've escalated the thread and added this as an issue to the PE internal spreadsheet too. Let's hope Google fixes it.
