I get that the primary router wants to sit out 192.168.86.1, but all the other google wifi devices take an IP address, but the IOS app doesn't allow you to reserve addresses for these.
It's like the IOS GUI filters out the WiFi devices from the +DHCP list. But I can see them on the network taking IP addresses.
It's not a big deal, but I like to organise my network.

I would hesitate to speculate on what the motivation for the current design might be. But, you should be able to reserve an IP address for devices that have been on your network relatively recently (say, the last 30 days or so?). I just checked the workflow for that and can see devices I know haven't been on my network in at least a few weeks. That does require selecting from a list of hosts, though – you can't just enter a random MAC address, so you're right that it wouldn't be a workaround.

Hello @AndrewJLockhart
It's true that it doesn't allow you to specify IP addresses for the Google WiFi secondaries. I used to "organize" my network as well, but once I started using IPv6 and mDNS, I stopped caring what IPv4 address anything had. In addition, if I ever have to factory reset this system, it will be a whole lot less work to recreate what I have. All of that said, if you have a good reason to do this, please use the feedback feature in the Google Home app to let Google know it's important to you. If enough people ask for it, that will raise the priority of implementing it.

Thanks, it seems more like an oversight rather than a new feature required. My guess is that the DHCP GUI is filtering out Google Wifi devices when it doesn't need to.
It also highlights that you can't reserve an IP address of a device that isn't currently on your network, otherwise this would be a good work-around, if you could manually input the IP address and MAC address.

But in that case, there is a work-around. I can find out the wired MAC address of one of my Google Wifi Units, disconnect it and then change my PC to have the same MAC address. Then I can reserve the MAC address to an IP. Then flip back my PC to it's normal MAC address and plug in the Google Nest again. That might work.....or it could all go horribly wrong.

Hey, AndrewJLockhart.
I just wanted to check in real fast to see if you were able to get things working or if you're still needing some help here. If you still need more assistance, please let me know. Also, big thanks to MichaelP for his information and support here.

Thanks, for checking in. I’ve accepted that it’s not officially possible to reserve Addresses for each of the points. If you could raise this as a bug/feature to be added that would be nice.
