This is third generation Google Mesh for me. I started with the original, then Nest WiFi and now Nest Wifi Pro 6E.
I know the Pro network is not backward compatible and that is not my question. What I want to do is use my Nest WiFi points as actual speakers only and still have google assistant available through the house only.
When i tried to add it as a speaker through the Google Home app, it tried to connect it to the mesh and ofcourse failed. So trying to figure out how to just add it as a speaker, nothing more.

Hey @mbda123 .
Nest Wifi Pro and Nest Wifi are not compatible and cannot be used together as you noted: Nest Wifi Pro mesh compatibility
As far as the functionality you are wanting to set up, it is not something that is supported by Google. There may be some "hack" guides on the internet but you are doing so at your own risk. Nest Wifi is designed to function as either a standalone router or a point in a mesh and anything outside of that is just an added feature.

Thanks for the quick reply. bummer that it can't be a speaker by itself. it's really a neat feature to have in the kitchen e.g. that is now gone and would need to spend more money on another device. I can always just setup another network and go with that, tell google home app it's a different house or something along those lines.

Hey folks,
Thanks for lending a hand, @PatrickP_Viking.
@mbda123, you won't be able to set up your Nest Wifi point in a different home structure as it will need to connect to a main Google Wifi or Nest Wifi router during setup. Let us know if you have any other questions and we'll be happy to help out.
Thanks,
Abi

Hello everyone,
Thanks for assisting, Abi.
@mbda123, you can set up one Wi-Fi network per Home structure in your Google account. You need to create a new Home structure every time you configure a new Wi-Fi network. Note: You can have up to 5 homes in your account.
Best,
Lovely

Why can’t I setup more than one wifi?
