Port forwarding to Nest WiFi Point

I have a firewall (Firewalla purple) in front of my Nest WiFi Router connection which handles all of the DHCP requests for my network so that Firewalla can track new devices. (Details solution 1 here: https://help.firewalla.com/hc/en-us/articles/4416280723859-Google-Wifi-or-Nest-Wifi-Mesh-network-wit...)

Everything works great with the exception of playing music on the Nest Wifi point speaker from other devices on my network. I can see the speaker in the google home app, but when I try and cast music to it it fails.  I can start music via voice and then control from my phone, but not start music on my phone or add the speaker to speaker groups. The issue is that the speaker has an IP in the 192.168.86.0/24 range and it's multicast traffic does not get forwarded out of the Nest Wifi router to my Firewalla Purple (which has a multicast reflector). I'd like to open the proper ports to allow this traffic out of the Google Nest WiFi network, but the Nest WiFi point router does not show up in the list of possible devices to enable port forwarding on.

Any work arounds or suggestions?

Hi taylor7,

Thanks for posting and sorry for the delay in ― let's get this sorted out.

Currently, there is no option to set a port forward for the Google Nest Wifi point or any access point within the mesh network. We're always looking for ways to improve and we'll take it as feedback.

I also suggest that you send feedback by following this link. Let me know if you have other questions or concerns, otherwise I’ll be locking this thread after 24 hours.

Best,
Mel

Thanks for the response. Happy to close this as I've given up on making this work:-) Hope it saves others some time attempting it!
