Speedtest shows 0kbps on Nest wifi

Woke up this morning to no internet connectivity and messages saying devices offline.  Reboot T-Mobile wireless internet, it shows very good connectivity and 5G.  Nest wifi with 2 mesh network points gets rebooted too.   nest speedtest shows this but other tests shows great speeds.  Seems like I can find the problem reported in the past re-reporting.

Hi, @rmorit01,

Thank you for posting in the community. I understand how frustrating it can be to experience ongoing internet connectivity problems, especially after trying troubleshooting steps. I'm happy to help you find a solution.

To better assist you, I’d like to know:

To troubleshoot effectively, please try changing your DNS settings:

  1. Open the Google Home app.
  2. Tap Favorites, then Wifi, then Network Settings, and finally Advanced Networking.
  3. Tap DNS.
  4. Choose your desired public DNS server:
    • Primary server: 8.8.8.8
    • Secondary server: 8.8.4.4

If the problem persists after changing the DNS, please try performing a factory reset on your WiFi device. A factory reset can often resolve persistent issues with the Nest WiFi system and eliminate software glitches. After the reset, set up your Google WiFi again.

Please let me know how it goes.

Best regards,

Ana

Ana - I have Nest Wifi with 2 access points - the model is H2D and software version 14150.882.9;  both access points are Model H2E and software version 1.56.375543 - whenI look at the speed test history I had one valid reading today and 0 though August 4 and August 2 a reading, no readings again until July 20th and July 18th.   Note if I select cutom DNS servers and enter the ones you provide the google software also wants a valid IP address for a public IPV6 server - I am going to ignore this for now as resetting everything for this feature isn't worth it -

Hi, @rmorit01,

Thank you for your quick response and for troubleshooting your device. Since your router is requesting a valid public IPV6 address, I recommend contacting your internet service provider to request a static IP address. Once you have this information, please follow these steps:

  • Open the Google Home app.
  • Tap Favorites, then Wifi, then Settings, and then Advanced Networking.
  • Tap DHCP IP reservations, then Add IP reservations.
  • Select the device you want to assign a static IP to.
  • Enter the static IP address provided by your ISP, then tap Save.

Please let me know how it goes.

Best regards,

Ana
