Time zone issue on my whole network

so everything about my system works perfectly fine, my speed is way way under what i pay for but still very servicable at about 330-350mb/s (i pay for 1gb) this is not my issue i am actually happy with my speed.

the issue that i am experiencing in my home is that when my lady or myself use our work laptop in the house we cannot change our time zone because it being connected to VPN networks from our work. whenever these computers are in the house they are set up to pacific time which is an issue because i live in connecticut (eastern time zone).

I have factory reset both my home app and each of my network points as well as all of my thermostats, and whenever ive chatted with google about it they inform me that you can change the time zone setting within google home, which is most definitely not true. this has now become more of a personal issue that i have with it now as it doesnt really affect much in the way of we know what time we actually live in but it just feels like this will never get resolved and its one of those things that i really need to be resolved to find peace in my life. i wish this didnt affect me so much personally but not having an answer is really getting to me at this point.

someone please have some help for me, i appreciate you in advance!

Hey @zmcooks .

The issue isn't the Google Home app or the Nest Wifi Pro but your device settings. Time zones on devices are determined by the IP when the device is set to automatically configure the time. When you are on a VPN, the IP is determined by the VPN IP which is located on the west coast.

On the affected laptops, go into settings for date/time and change it from automatically determining the time zone to manual and then set it to eastern time.

Let me know if you need any additional assistance or if the above resolves the issue.
