Traeger help please!

I’ve tried for quite some time to make this work. I have a timberline 850 traeger grill that will apparently only connect to 2.4g network for its initial set up. I have google nest gen 2 mesh system with router and two points. I have never had an issue with setting up anything, except this traeger grill. I’ve called their support line 3 times, and I’m not going to have my internet provider split to 5g/2g, and I don’t want to replace my router system. How can I get my grill to connect?  I’ve set up a guest network (that is supposed to be only 2g), and that didn’t work either. Is there a 2g only extender that plays nicely with the google nest mesh system? I’ve tried almost everything that I have read on here (walking far enough away to try and get on only 2g didn’t work as an example). Anyone with similar issues find a reasonable

Guest Wifi is also 2.4ghz + 5ghz combined into the same SSID. You can verify this yourself with an app like "WiFiman", for iOS or Android.

If you have an old router laying around, you could try to set it up with the same SSID and password for 2.4ghz only. If it works, try to turn it off, and see it the device jumps over to Nest Wifi.

You could also buy a cheap access point, or reuse an old router if it can be bridged/ set to access point only mode, that can broadcast 2.4ghz only SSID. Connect it by ethernet cable to the Nest Wifi LAN port.

I reviewed the reply. It seems I’ll just have to have a dedicated router or access point for the Traeger. Really appreciate the help
