Trying to set up PPPoE but Nest Pro is not saving my Credentials

Hi,
I am trying to replace my ISPs Router with the Nest Pro WiFi router but I cannot get it to save my Credentials so I am not even getting to the point where it should log into my providers network.
I am in the UK using Vodafone's FTTP.  Now they have provided me with my user name and Passsword and the VLAN info.  When I fill in the user name and password the nest device does not save it even if I press the save icon.
Thanks
Jon......

Hi @springbk,

Thank you for contacting the community! I understand that you have been having trouble replacing your ISP router with the Nest Wifi Pro because you are unable to save the credentials—such as the username, password, and VLAN information—provided by your ISP. I am here to help.

In cases like these, the Google Nest Wifi Pro does not support the PPPoE authentication required by many UK ISPs (including Vodafone FTTP) when using a username, password, and VLAN configuration. Due to this limitation, we recommend the following steps:

  • Keep their Vodafone router as the main modem/router and connect Nest WiFi Pro behind it (bridge/modem mode if supported).
  • Use a third-party router that supports PPPoE and VLAN tagging as the main router, then connect Nest WiFi Pro downstream for mesh coverage.

Keep me posted.

Best regards,
Eduardo
