I have attempted to use the Google Home app to change my Google Wifi WAN settings from PPPoE to Static so my friend and I can set up a Minecraft server. I've made many attempts, switching between two android devices.
When I remove ethernet cable from my primary router to change WAN settings, I get an Amber light but no connectivity will occur between the Home app and the GMesh after the Amber light occurs and thus can't access settings and make changes to WAN settings whether mobile data with the android devices is on or off.
Is this a Google Home bug? Should I use a different router and then use my Google WiFi as bridges?
Is there a way to access
I should be able to access the router via an offline connection to change this setting and I can't establish a connection between the Home app and the router after Amber light. Thanks 👍🙏

The same issue here. I see the router in the browser when I access it via router IP, but somehow Google Home doesn't see it when the ethernet is disconnected. Mobile data off.
So useless App... Google any comments on that??

Hi everyone,
Thanks for posting and sorry for the delay.
Editing the WAN setting on your Google Home app requires the Google Wifi to be online. Could you try to edit the WAN setting while the Ethernet cable is plugged into your main point?
Best,
Mel

Hi Mel
We spend 2h with Google support on chat to try to figure it out. They log in to the router remotely to check settings. They thought it could be because of the GSuit account but after a factory reset and migration network to a normal Google account and also checking with another phone (Google Pixel) it is still the same issue. For now, we using our old normal router because we can't work like that.
btw I'm very curious about what has in his head someone who designs disconnecting ethernet cables to change router settings... imagine disconnecting the water pipe from the washing machine to change the washing program ...
Thanks
Adrian

Hi adrchw,
Are you still working with support on this, or have you set troubleshooting aside for now? If you're ongoing with support, I would suggest seeing things through there as to not confuse the troubleshooting steps. Let us know what point you're at with them and we'll help here as we can.
Thanks,
Jeff

Hi Jeff
No, I don't work with support anymore, they don't have more idea of how to fix it.
Thanks
