I want to create a hobby network where I can have more control over devices connected to is like I did with my old Router. Can you connect that router to the Google Mesh Wifi network in some way to do that.
I just purchased 3 Google Nest AC2200 routers and was successful in blanketing my house with good wifi connectivity. I had a small managed cluster of Raspberry Pi's and used hard coded ip addresses which won't work now but I was really curious about create a 'sub' or different wifi network along with the mesh (different channels etc..) All my searches don't cover this specifically and I would like to know how I might find some references if it is even possible.

Hello @kwlii
If you don't mind having those devices behind a double NAT, you can connect your old router to your new network via Ethernet, and it should "just work" (assuming you didn't use the same WiFi network name and password for the new network as the old network; if you did reuse the name+password, then this won't "just work", because there will be two networks with the same name and password).

Hey, kwlii.
Just wanted to touch base real fast to make sure you saw MichaelP's reply and to see if you needed any more support on this. Let me know if there's anything I can do for you.
Thanks.

Hi, everyone.
As we haven't had any activity here recently I'm going to go ahead and close the thread. If you have more to add, feel free to start a new discussion.
Thanks
