I was trying to set up my mom's new Google Nest Wifi router to replace her old OnHub, but I was unable to complete setup after several attempts. I suspect Nest Wifi is looking for more bandwidth than she presently has (10Mbps down/1Mbps up) and is refusing to complete setup.
Is there an actual hard minimum bandwidth requirement to set up Google Nest Wifi?

Hey, nrmaharaj.
Sorry to hear about the setup issues you're having. You shouldn't have issues completing setup with those bandwidth numbers and I would suspect the issue is with something else. I imagine it's been confusing. Let's take a look at what's going on. Would you mind answering a few things to help me narrow in on possible issues?
If you could give me a few more details, I'm sure we can get this worked out. I look forward to hearing from you.
Thanks.

Hi, nrmajaraj.
Let's do that factory reset first and then move to additional steps if it doesn't work. Here's how you can do the factory reset with the buttons that are on the device: https://bit.ly/3lbN7TZ.
Give that a try and then repeat setup once more. Let me know if it doesn't work out for you.
Thanks.

Hi, nrmaharaj.
I just wanted to check in real fast to see if you saw my last reply and to find out if you still needed any help on this. If you're still needing assistance, please just let me know and I'll be happy to continue helping.
Thanks.

Thanks, Jeff. As it happens, she upped her speed and when I tried setup again it worked without a hitch. No factory reset required!
My suspicion now is that Nest Wifi wants to see upload speeds at least meeting the requirements of other Nest devices (5Mbps?) in order to execute setup. Even if there isn't a hard requirement in the device, might there be error-checking on the server side that's failing setups on speeds below a certain threshold? Something for someone else to ponder--we're all good on my end of things. Thanks for your help, Jeff!

Hey, nrmaharaj.
I'll need to check with an internal team on that. I can't find any statement out there that gives a minimum speed requirement, but it's definitely a possibility. I'll come back when I know more.
Thanks.

Hey, nrmaharaj.
Sorry to circle back to this so much time later, but I wasn't ever able to find any minimum speed spec for the product. While there doesn't seem to be an official speed requirement, it's always possible that low enough speeds would make for a very weak mesh and could run into performance issues in a variety of different ways.
If you have any other questions, let me know, otherwise I'll mark this one as resolved.
Thanks.
