Where/how do I attach my nest hub to my 3rd party router?

St one time my nest base was connected by wire op my router. I can’t recall how.  I think it’s just plug wire from nest to some entry point but no idea where

Thanks for reaching out with your question about connecting your router to your modem. I can definitely help you get that sorted out.
 
On the bottom of your router, you'll see the inputs. You will plug the ethernet cable from your modem into the input that has a globe symbol next to it. A common ethernet cable is all that is required.
