Why does my Google nest loose device list when using wpa3?

Trying to view all devices on my network, when I used wpa3 I can’t list any. The device list works under wpa2.

Any ideas why this doesn't work, anyone had similar experience?

Hi, MJackson3755.

Sorry for the issues you're having viewing devices on your network. I imagine that's frustrating to deal with, especially when you're looking to use improved security. Let's see what's going on and come up with a fix for you.

I do have a few questions that might point us in the right direction.

  1. Have you been able to verify if the devices you're looking for in the device list support WPA3 security?
  2. How are you switching between WPA2 and WPA3?
  3. When you switch between WPA2 and WPA3, are you seeing your network restart properly?
  4. Are some devices visible when switching to WPA3, or do all devices disappear?
  5. Finally, are you sing the Home app to view your network devices, or using some other method?

If you can give me a little more information, I'm sure we can get this worked out. I look forward to hearing back from you.

Thanks.

Hi

I'm using the Home app (Andriod) and toggling the slider to "Use WPA3 security" under settings.  I was experiencing this issue when I bought the nest devices and posted this (many weeks ago), over several days.  However I've just tested again and now it seems to list all devices connected, when previously the list was empty.

Not sure if there has been a patch applied to the App, or to Andriod, but it seems to be working now.

thanks

Hey, MJackson3755.

Thanks for following up. There was a recent update that was pushed out, so it's possible that your apps and devices received that update (they apply automatically) and it set things straight for you. As we have our answer, I'm going to go ahead and close up the thread, but if you have any new issues or this pops up again, please feel free to open a new discussion.

Thanks.
