Wifi Pro drops matter bulbs.

Hi

Nest wifi pro. i have a G6ZUC router with 2 points (same model) all on firmware 3.73.406133.

Have 2 Nanoleaf matter connected over thread A19 bulbs. Worked great until last Thursday. Bulbs got dropped from network. Disconnected/reconnected bulbs no go. Reset bulbs and reinstalled one successfully. Couldn't reinstall other.

Reset nearest point and it was able to reinstall it. Reset other point and router.

This morning same thing. Reset router and one connected, reset both points and they worked again.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance

Peter

Im having the same issue with my thread devices as well after the update to 3.73.406133.

This problem does not occur with the latest Nanoleaf firmware. Unfortunately, this problem interferes with the firmware updater.

To work around you can temporarily unplug the Nest Wifi Pro while performing the firmware update. Alternatively, manually factory reset the bulbs and perform the firmware update before re-adding to Google Home.

Same issue with all my casa matter devices after update

Kasa I mean to say

I'm having the same problem after the update. Lost all of my Nanoleaf Essential bulbs. And now I'm having trouble resetting the bulbs.

Would you please help to input the nanoleaf firmware?

According to https://helpdesk.nanoleaf.me/en-US/pairing-your-essentials-%28matter%29-lights-215487, it's always encouraged to upgrade to latest version (3.6.173 now) for smoother experience, would you like to have a try? Thanks.

I can't speak for them but I know I'm on firmware 3.5.41. I would upgrade to  3.6.173 but I can't connect to them to update them after my Nest Wifi pro updated to the latest firmware

AFAIK, nanoleaf devices should be able to be upgraded with their app over BLE. may open BLE on your phone and have a try?

I tried but I couldn't get it to connect for whatever reason

May ask nanoleaf regarding the upgrade issue in this case?

For not being able to connect via BT yeah I should but I do still believe the main issue of not being able to connect after the latest Nest Wifi Pro update is due to said update as I had no issues before hand.

Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention. We have initiated an investigation and will provide an update as soon as we have more information.

We've validated the new nanoleaf firmware 3.6.173 can work well with the new nest wifi pro release.  please contact nanoleaf to upgrade to latest  release for your daily use firstly and sorry for the inconvenience.

I can't connect to the bulbs anymore and they won't even hard reset by cycling the power anymore.  They seem bricked.

I can't even connect to the bulbs using the Nanoleaf app anymore, so I have no idea what firmware they are on.  But they were working fine before the Nest Wifi update, so not sure why that even matters.  Speaking of Matter, what a mess.  I have had way more problems with Matter devices than I ever had with SmartThings and Zigbee.

Yeah I tried that.  They won't reset anymore.  Instead they blink once every 4 seconds or so.

If that's failing (I believe it should work..) you could unplug the Nest Wifi Pro router and try either the firmware update via the app or the bulb FDR procedure.

I will try, but think about how stupid this is.  I have 8 bulbs.  I will now have to go around and power-cycle all 8 bulbs to reset them.  Then re-pair all of them.  Rename all of them.  Assign them to rooms.  Re-do all of my automations.  This will be the 2nd or 3rd time I have had to do this in the last year.  All because of a router software update.  Is this a "smart" home or a "dumb" home.  Matter is broken before it even started.

I do understand your frustration. If you're able to do the update by merely unplugging the router to let the update happen you should not have to re-commission or redo your automations.

This problem.is not just with nanoleaf bulbs my kasa switches (matter) have the same issue. Is anyone from Google listening. Or do you not care?

Going to try this soon, thanks.  Paired with nano leaf app and updated firmware via Bluetooth, but still not found by Home.  I bet this will do the trick

OK, so after disconnecting Google Wifi I was able to connect my bulbs using the Nanoleaf app and update the firmware.  Then I reconnected my routers, and tried to add them back into Google Home.  It went through the Matter pairing and credentialing process, seemed to successfully get added to Google Home, but still show as offline.  They continue to work through the Nanoleaf app though.  I also tried to reset one of the bulbs, successfully got the three red blinking light to confirm, but it still shows as offline in Google Home after pairing.

I'm back in business.  Here's my workflow:

1) Remove offline devices from Google Home.

2) Unplug all Nest Wifi Pro routers.

3) Upgrade light bulb firmware using the Nanoleaf app over bluetooth.

4) Delete bulbs from the Nanoleaf app.

5) Reset each bulb using the power-cycle process until they do the three red blinks.

6) Plug Nest Wifi Pro back in.

7) Add the bulbs back into Google Home using the QR codes.

They might show up as offline at first but eventually they should become available to control.  A huge pain if you have a lot of bulbs.

Ooof, I have 6 bulbs so it shouldn't be that bad but still.

Well, after everything working fine over the weekend, I woke up this morning and all of my light bulbs are offline again. 😡😡😡

I'm running into the same issue. Google WiFi pro on version 3.73.406133 and two Nanoleaf bulbs on 3.6.173. I can pair the bulbs with my phone over Bluetooth and control them in the Nanoleaf app as normal. If I try to add them to Google home it goes through the setup process until "Checking Network Connectivity..." and then times out. I've factory reset the WiFi Pro through the app as well as the bulbs by turning them off and on five times with no success.

I should also add that if I set the bulbs up in the Nanoleaf app it does ask to connect them to my thread network and indicates that they successfully connect to it. If I go into the settings of the bulbs it shows the thread network name that I expect. I am not aware of any way to verify this connection is working as I've only ever seen the Nanoleaf app use Bluetooth to communicate with them.

I was able to update a few of my Nanoleaf bulbs and get remote access but I still can't add them to Google Home

After uninstalling the bulbs from GH and resetting them i was able to reinstall after resetting all the Wifi Pro devices..

Problem i will have on Monday when i go back to work is i was building a thread network with 80 bulbs. Will i have to repeat the process 80 times.
