Also what is the temperature these can work in ?

Getting a second point should do the trick.  There are all kinds of stuff in a house that limits the distance (and speed) of your network.  You really are going to just have to experiment with it to see which locations in your house will give you the best signals.

Hello @beerman

I would not purchase another point in this situation. What I would do is place the point you have half way between the primary Nest WiFi Router unit and the client devices you are trying to get connected. The reason is that the Nest WiFi Point and Nest WiFi Router only talk to each other at 5GHz, which has less range than 2.4GHz does. So, the best advice for optimal placement is to have the Nest WiFi Router as close to the center of your home as possible with Nest WiFi Point units one or two rooms away from there, close enough that they can get strong 5GHz WiFi connections to the Nest WiFi Router themselves, and from there they will provide 2.4GHz and 5GHz WiFi connectivity to more distant clients.

Placing another Nest WiFi Point in between is unlikely to help, since the mesh path selection algorithm prefers fewer hops, meaning that if that distant point can get through to the primary directly, then it will – even if another point unit is in between.
