my ps4 keeps disconnecting from the wifi. I have tried changing the dns server and assigned a static ip to the console but after 10 minutes the playstation keeps disconnecting.

I am having the same issue, just kicks off every 10-20 min.

What worked for me was making a guest network on the google app and then setting the frequency on the PS4 to 2.4ghz slower wifi but works

It only works on a guest network and 2.4ghz band for some reason 5ghz on my main network does not work

Hi, infra1738.

Which model of PS4 do you have? Only the Slim and Pro models support 5GHz WiFi. If you have the original PS4 model, it will only connect to 2.4GHz. If you have a Slim or a Pro, let me know and we can look at it again.

Thanks.

I have the slim it supports 5ghz but I had to manually change the frequency band to 2.4 and create a guest network in order for the PS4 to work and the internet speeds are very slow on this frequency. on 5ghz I would lose connection every minute or so

Hey, infra1738.

Yeah, you should be able to connect. There's something odd going on there. There is one more workaround we could try here. Sometimes with devices that are struggling to connect to the 5GHz can be "forced" into connecting with a small trick. Using the guest network, you can create the network with the same ID and password as your main network. Get the PS4 to connect to that guest network, and then delete or disable the guest network after re-enabling the PS4's 5GHz band. This will sometimes get the device to connect.

I don't know that it will work, but it's definitely worth the try to get that extra speed. If you're willing to give that a go, let me know if it works.

Thanks.
