using google home can't add google wifi point to mesh

try to add google wifi point to my mesh and google home app will not let me connect it, like the old google wifi app did.  Is there a solution

Is it an older Google wifi point (flat puck) or a newer, marshmallow Nest wifi point?

Need some more info on the steps you're taking...but have you tried doing a factory reset on the point before trying to add it?
