wifi point, stuck with message "unable to determine if a google account was already linked"

The wifi point went offline earlier. Tried factory reset as it failed to connect. Restarted setup process. Twice it claimed connected but then stuck at "something went wrong... unable to determine if a google account was already linked".

• What is the light status of the point after you get the message?
• How far is it from the parent point?
