Continuous False Tamper Alarm in Yale Electric Lock

Torsten

Dear Yale Support Team

I am reaching out to you due to a persistent issue with my Yale electric lock that, in a unfortunate turn of events, has resulted in a personal injury. The lock's tamper alarm has been sounding off intermittently, which I believe is a false alarm, as no attempts to breach the lock's integrity have been made to my knowledge.

Due to the incessant and disruptive noise, in a rushed attempt to disconnect the battery and silence the alarm, I took a serious fall down my staircase. This resulted in a fractured leg in three places, leading to a hospitalization.

I am earnestly requesting your prompt guidance and assistance in resolving this alarm issue. Despite numerous attempts to troubleshoot the situation, I am unable to find any clear instruction on how to correct this problem in the manual or online research.

Kind regards,

Torsten

There are a couple of things you can do to troubleshoot this:

  1. Replace the batteries.
  2. Reset the lock.
  3. Adjust the tightness of the mounting screws.

If it still happens after trying those steps, then I'd recommend contacting Yale support.

Also, I'm sorry to hear about your fall, wishing you a speedy recovery!
