Disable privacy mode

Tacetman
Community Member

I am on vacation, and just discovered the power is out in my neighborhood.

I am concerned my pipes will freeze and would like to let a neighbor in to run water through my sink to prevent that from happening.

The problem is I enabled Privacy Mode before leaving the house. Since the power is out, my Next x Yale lock does not have Wifi access for me to disable privacy mode so me neighbor can get into the house. And there’s no other way to access the house with the power out.

Is there some way to disable privacy mode from outside the house without a wifi connection? Perhaps a locksmith has a special code?

Hi Tacetman,

I understand that this isn’t an ideal situation for you. This may not be the answer you’re looking for. Disabling the lock’s privacy mode is either through the Nest app or by turning the thumb turn counter clockwise inside your home. I suggest contacting a locksmith near your area.

Let me know if there’s anything else.

Thanks,

JT

Hi folks,

Thanks for the reply and the follow-up. Nothing further required, I think JT's explanation that you can ONLY disable Privacy Mode via the app OR using the thumb turn (inside the house) covered it well.
