Nest Guard - USB Cable Removed

My Nest Guard is reporting "USB Cable Removed" even after replacing the power adapter and cable with a new Nest cable and adapter.  Cannot engage my alarm and the fancy paper weight is triggering my anxiety..

Any help from the support team would be appreciated please...

Sorry to hear about the consistent error message that you are getting, I'm sure it can be confusing, but I'm happy to look into this for you. 

 

Are you using Nest provided USB cables as replacement or are you using third party cables? We always recommend to use Nest provided accessories to make sure that it meets the requirements.

I am using Nest approved adapter and cable purchased new from the Google Store.

I am glad to hear that you are using Nest accessories with your Nest Guard. I am sure it has been quite frustrating with it not functioning. I would love to figure this out together.

  • Have you tried to restart the Nest Guard yet? Here is an article that goes over how to do just that! 
  • If it gets worse, you can reset the Nest Guard to factory settings. That usually fixes issues as well. I would not do that off the bat as it would essentially be a 'new' device. 
  • I have another article that will troubleshoot the error codes, or other issues that the Nest Guard has, and I think it will be beneficial to fixing this issue. You can find the article here
