Hi @Jayrtt.,

I understand your frustration with the Nest Connect not turning green during installation. A flashing blue light usually indicates the device is trying to connect to Wi-Fi but encountering issues. Here are some steps to troubleshoot the flickering blue light and get your Nest Connect set up:

Wi-Fi Network:

  • Double-check Wi-Fi Network: Ensure you're entering the correct Wi-Fi password during setup. A typo can prevent the connection.
  • 2.4 GHz Network: Nest Connect works best with 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi networks. If your router broadcasts a combined signal (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz), try temporarily disabling the 5 GHz band to isolate the 2.4 GHz network for setup.
  • Router Distance: Move the Nest Connect closer to your Wi-Fi router during setup to ensure a strong signal.

Nest Connect:

  • Factory Reset: It sounds like you've already tried a factory reset (indicated by the yellow light). If the blue light returns after the yellow light, it might not have completed successfully. Try the reset again, holding the button for a full 10 seconds until the light turns solid yellow, then release.

App and Phone:

  • App Update: Ensure you have the latest version of the Google Nest app installed on your phone. Outdated apps might have bugs that prevent successful setup.
  • Restart Phone: Sometimes a simple phone restart can resolve temporary glitches that might be affecting the app's communication with Nest Connect.

If for some reason you still have the same issue you can call our customer service line for further assistance.

Regards,

Mario.
