Just bought yale lock with nest connect. Can't get connect to connect to the nest app. It seems like everything is going fine, then you will see a yellow blinking light and you get error 009. Super frustrating. Pls help

Hi @Hsk1
Please note that the support of the Nest Yale Lock is ending next year.
Not sure if it is a suitable investment right now, but I wanted to inform you about it.
For more information about it check THIS blog post and THIS support page.
Found a workaround for setup issues:
Check THIS support page to set it up.

Is Google Nest ending support for the Nest Yale Lock, or will it just no longer work with Nest Secure because support for Nest Secure is being dropped? The blog post does not mention the Nest Yale Lock.

Nest Yale Lock will work but the Nest App is not able to communicate with the Lock by using Internet. So not sure what the impact will be but as Google notices this themselves this:
On April 8, 2024, Nest will no longer support Nest Secure. It will not be accessible in the Nest app and will no longer connect to the internet. You will not be able to use the Nest app to check the status of your Nest Secure, control your Nest Secure devices, or receive notifications from your alarm system.

What does that mean? Is a Nest Yale Lock a "Nest Secure device"? It does not seem very clear.
The rest of the support page you referenced says "You will need to have either a Google Nest Guard or Google Nest Connect already installed and connected to the Nest app for The Nest × Yale Lock to work with the app."

To be honest, I am not sure but if I look at THIS page it seems the Nest Yale Lock is not a Nest Secure device.
But Nest Guard is. Which communicates with the lock.
So my guess is that the whole alarm system is going to be out of support but the lock can be used without it?

I’m having the same issue and error code NA009(0.80). Would you mind sharing what you did to get the nest connect, connected?
I agree it’s annoying that it’s this difficult to set up.

I'm having the same kind of issues. It's really annoying. I now can't even connect to the nest connect device via the nest app. Keep getting "device still has some old setup information, please reset and try again" or words to this effect. Multiple times going through the green, blue flashing, yellow light sequence. Then it times out trying to connect to the app on the phone. Tried resetting wifi, resetting phone, making sure bluetooth was on, setting up guest wifi at 2.4 GHz, no password. All suggestions in the forums, but nothing works. The lock works from its keypad, but that's it...

Hi folks,
Thanks for posting here in the Community forum, and I'm sorry to hear about the situation were you are not able to connect your Nest Connect to the Nest app. Let me take a look at this for you.
@Hsk1, what is the exact message or code you are getting on the app as you try to connect the Nest × Yale Lock to the app?
@Pegleg27, please try to do the following steps below.
@TrevorS, have you tried to create another home structure and add your Nest Connect to it as a workaround? If not yet, please try to do that and let me know how that goes.
I appreciate your help, @RXShorty and @MplsCustomer.
Best,
Zoe
