Nest x Yale lock passcodes do not work

So I recently purchased a Nest x Yale lock and it really does not work well. I can either successfully set it up with my phone and unlock it from my phone, however if I do that then no passcode will work on the lock itself. The only way to unlock or lock it would be through the phone. I did a hard reset and same issue. The only way a passcode will work on the lock itself is to set it up and not connect it to the nest app, then you can use the passcodes. As soon as you connect it to the app same issue. It seems to erase all the codes including the master as soon as you set it up with the app. I don't think it is a defective lock because I purchased 3 locks and all have the same issue. Really pisses me off because it defeats the entire purpose of having a smart lock.

Hey gsdb2018,

I’m sorry for the trouble this has caused you — let me help you out.

When you first install and set up your Nest × Yale Lock, you’ll be asked to create a Master Passcode on the lock itself. Once you connect your lock to the Nest app, you won’t need the Master Passcode anymore. You will only use passcodes that you’ve created with the Nest app. More information here.

I hope that helps.

Best,

Lance
