Airplay not Bluetooth

MHSc

I have Apple Airplay as preferred music app on Google Home, but want the added control of my iPhone to choose what I play. I have set it up to play over Bluetooth but I think this is pretty lossy. Is it possible to either (1) use the iPhone as a controller with Apple Airplay music arriving to the speaker via wifi, or (2) to play from iPhone to Google home using the wifi router that both devices are connected to?

Airplay is not a music app, its a service that is only for apple devices...

Apple MUSIC is the music app, and you can set it as your preferred service on your google home.

Not entirely … or it’s raised more questions; in particular about what happens in the differently sampled codecs that are about send over Bluetooth, before they are played as music by Google home?

Think there may be confusion here.. bottom line audio sent through Bluetooth from an iPhone is not lossless, as per apple themselves

You can listen via Apple music through wifi which should give you better sound quality.
