Apps are not visible on my nest hub. I am in the USA but the google country association page shows that the account is associated with India. I have changed the google play country. Please help

Changing the language, removing my other home in the google home app from a different country, reinstalling the google home app and then resetting the nest hub solved it for me.

Hi sreekar,

That's an interesting one! A few questions: where did you buy your Nest Hub? Is it working as intended if you give command to it? How about the language, is it in US-EN? It would help a lot if you could do a sequential reboot to refresh its settings. Unplug the power cord of your router followed by your Nest Hub. Plug them back in after 3 minutes. Restarting your phone might also help.

For additional steps, check out this guide on how to change your Google home address.

Keep us posted.

Best,

Dan

I bought the Nest Hub in US. Casting from Youtube or Spotify works. But it doesn't show the apps. If I give it a voice command to open Youtube, it opens Youtube on my TV instead. The language is automatically resetting to IN-EN. I did a sequential reboot, didn't seem to help. Also reset it a few times. I have an iPhone, I no longer use my old Android, but I changed the country from India to US about a year ago

Hey there,

Thanks for the response. Would it be okay if I ask how you did the reset? Was it a factory reset or just a reboot? It could help a ton if you can confirm on this link, for us to know what the next steps should we take.

Best,

Dan

I have done both reboot and factory reset. Neither helped. I am guessing that the problem is because of some leftover country association as the google voice at the start of setup after each reboot is American but shifts to the Indian Google assistant accent after setting up with my account

I have got the country association changed with a support request to google and then reset the hub too. But it is still happening, the google assistant voice shifts to the Indian accent after setup

Hi sreekar,

Thanks for the confirmation. Kindly follow the steps below to see what language is set as default or if there's a second language to it:

  1. On your mobile device, open the Google Home app .
  2. At the top right, tap your account and then Assistant settings Languages.
  3. Tap your current language choose a new language.

Also, another way to check the location is to open your Google Home app, tap Assistant settings > Your places. To edit a home or work address, tap the current address > enter a new address > Ok. To remove a home or work address, tap Remove Remove next to the address.

For more information, check out this guide about changing your assistant language.

Cheers,

Dan

Doing this changed the google assistant accent. But the apps didn't return even after another reset
