for 2 years this calling has worked we use a google nest Hub and satellite nest speakers (4) and have Verizon Fios - this last week the assistant stopped making calls - when asked to call - it says calling XXXX hesitates for about 10 seconds and beeps twice. I read everything I could find and tried everything even adding google voice to the linked Cell phone and adding money to the account. still no closer to getting this to make calls - I have spent HOURS and have removed the speakers from the HOMA and added them back in - no changes - ANY assistance anyone can give me would be appreciated. The home this is in is a 93 year old who lives alone and cannot see or get around so the Assistant is VITAL to his communication. GV #4804

you mentioned you have already factory reset the devices, have you rebooted the router?
10-18-2021 04:36 PM
Yes we have rebooted the router we originally thought it was a Verizon FiOS issue with outgoing service after two hours on the phone with Verizon we concluded it was not. I have not done a factory reset on the hub nor the nest speakers in the house I was apprehensive as to lose all of the data that we have and the routines the The interaction that has come to become relied upon by my dad.

No In your situation a factory reset will be a bigger ordeal for sure... I was actually trying to think of a different way around it.
I guess I would suggest that you try to add a new device (if you have a spare Google home or hub of your own) , and see if it has the same issue. If you don't have a device to add, try factory resetting only one device at first and testing it once refreshed.

Ok I tried a factory reset on a rarely used speaker and I get the same thing tries to call just get 2 beeps disconnects,

I have the same recent issue. Call, two beeps, nothing. It's not a contacts issue, since it doesn't work the number either

Still not working- cannot call out, updated to the latest software and google home app. Rebooted the router. Tried to call out nothing. Using a GV number. Asked assistant to dial our home landline and the call went through but only from one of the 4 speakers in the home tried from all others no success. Any thoughts?

I have escalated this thread for you, lets see if we can get someone more in the know involved!

I think I figured something out. I was signed in on an alternate Gmail account on one of my devices (my iPad) and signed in on the normal Google account on my phone. That evidently made some type of conflict, and when I signed out of the Gmail account on the iPad and signed back in on it using the other account, the Google speaker now seems to work again to make calls.

My Assistant is an older one and I suspect it was just some new software update that made it incompatible. Maybe I’ll switch to Alexa.
