Can't factory reset Google Home mini 2nd gen

Sublimetori

I changed my wifi to include 2.4 for a different device. This kicked my mini off my wi-fi. Tried to fix it with the home app. Made my phone forget my original wifi. The app tells me it waa configured my someone else and to do a factory reset. I thought I did because I pressed and held the middle until I got a weird sound. I am still getting the error message in the app. Is this bricked?

The process for changing the Wi-Fi settings for a speaker or display calls for selecting the device, then selecting Settings | Device Information \ Wi-Fi, and selecting "Forget this "Network" while you are still on the old Wi-Fi network:

If this doesn't occur (as it didn't in your case), then yes, the recourse is doing a factory reset:

https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/7073477#zippy=%2Cgoogle-home-mini-st-gen

And Google Nest lists these workaround if the reset doesn't work:

If you can't get it to work, you could try contacting Google Nest Support to see if they can help:
