Can't log into Google account in New Nest Max

Brand new Nest Max, 4 days old. Used the Nest Max to look for support for photos freezing. Found this community but had to log into my Google account to post. EVERY TIME I entered my email, the nest told me the browser wasn't secure and to try another browser. It's a Google device so it's using chrome! I was never able to log on using the Nest Max. Still can't. NOT a fan of the new Nest.... How do we fix this issue?

We're sorry to hear about this experience. Could you please share a photo or screenshot of the exact display you're getting on both Google Nest display and Home app? Also, for more guidance on setting it up, you can check these:

 

What you need to get started​

  • A speaker or display.
  • Latest version of the Google Home app.
  • Latest version of the Google app.
  • A Google Account.
  • A mobile phone or tablet that:
    • Has Android 9.0 or later.
    • Works with 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Wi-Fi network (a WPA-2 Enterprise network won't work).
    • Has Bluetooth turned on.
  • An Internet connection and secure wireless network.
  • If you already use Duo for video calling, make sure that you use the same Google Account in Duo and in the Google Home app.

Get started

  1. Plug in your speaker or display.
  2. On your phone or tablet, open the Google Home app Google Home app.
    1. If you haven't set up a home, tap Create home enter a nickname for your home enter an address (optional) tap Next.
    2. Tap the name of your home Next.
  3. Tap Devices Add New Device .
  4. Follow the in-app steps. Note: You can opt out of some settings, like Voice Match or personal results. You can also change your device settings at any time after you complete setup.

You are under the impression I need help setting up this device. That is not the case. This is my third Nest device, I am well versed in how to set them up. The device itself is having problems. The device is showing in my Google nest app. It is linked to my Google account so when I access the Google assistant on the Nest Max, it is my profile picture that is up in the upper right hand corner of the Max screen. 

Issues the Max is having:

1) photo frame freezes

 

I did some research, using the Max device. The Google Nest community pages came up on the screen. I wanted to post a question. That led to the discovery of problem #2. 

 

2) When I try to sign in to the Google Nest community pages, using the Nest Max screen, it tells me the browser in not secure (see pictures). 

 

It happens after I enter my email address. This has been an issue since we got the Nest Max. I just took the attached pictures so it is STILL a problem. 

 

It is NOT the network. No other devices say anything about the browser not being secure. When I posted on the community site, I was literally leaning up again the counter the Max was on and was able to log into the community page on my phone to post my issue. 

 

Troubleshooting:

 

Unugged the Max multiple times. 

Deleted the device from Google Home, 

uninstalled the Home App, then reinstalled it, multiple times. 

 

Photos frame still freezes

I have tried several times to fill out the form and every time I hit submit it says "Refresh and try again. Sorry there was a problem with the form"  Using chrome browser, android device, tried normal site then clicked option for desktop site. It won't go through either way, I always get the same message to refresh.

Without me changing anything, after 3 days with no photoframe showing, just white screen,  today the gallery returned by itself.

Still have an issue when using the "broadcast to" command, real voice has disappeared just text of the message. Worked for years with voice. 

Note we have a very established google home setup, with 6 displays  3 cameras, 2 doorbells , heating system, 17 lights , vacuum cleaner.

Is there any way to turn on notifications for my inbox? I get the occasional email when someone had added to my thread, but that's it.

On the screen where I would type my email,  When I click on the top text that says "accounts. google.com"   -  it takes me a pop-up that says: " Connection is secure " with a green lock.  then lists the URL https://accounts.Google.com/v4/sign-in/identifier?continue=http%3A%2F%2Fsuppirt.google.com%2Faccount...... blah blah

All this is trying to deal with losing the shopping list feature which is moving to Keep, but can't access is w/ HUB.  (if that's not an option, takes away the most used function of all of my 8+ minis around the house. )

Having similar problem with one of our 6 displays.

works generally, but has stopped displaying gallery wallpapers

reselected from photo frame settings

just get a white screen
