Cannot accept invitation to join google home.

I have google family setup just fine.  I wanted to add my spouse to the "google home" to manage the same set of devices in my household.  I can send the invitation no problem.

However, when she tried to accept the pending invitation.  It says "Cannot accept the invitation, try again".  It didn't give me any reason why it failed.  

I used Andriod / Pixel, and my family uses iPhone.

Note; Most forum discussion is cannot send invitation.  My invitation sent is just fine, but cannot "accept" the invitation.

I'm having the exact same problem, except my family are also on Android.
