Cannot start ClassicNL from TuneIn by speech

WimAbbenhuis
Community Member

I used to start the day by saying "Hey Google, stream ClassicNL". And then ClassicNL played.

Since two days, when I say "stream ClassicNL", my Google Nest Hub and my tree mini's start playing Radio Peyi A, and the screen says Radio Classic FM (witch is not the same as ClassicNL).

Workaround is open TuneIn on my iPhone, choose ClassicNL and stream that to my Nest Hub and/or Mini's.

What has happened here?

As I mentioned before, it fails on all my devices (Home mini, Nest mini, Nest audio, Nest hub and even my Harman Kardon Citation soundbar) except on our smartphones (Samsung S20FE and S21FE) .

Hey folks,

@WimAbbenhuis  and @afix  : Thanks for always updating this thread with the information that we need.

It's me again! We need a little help. The team needs a fresh feedback so we can further check what's going on with ClassicNL. Please make sure to replicate the issue first, then immediately send feedback on your speakers. Use the keywords: "GHT3 Unable to play ClassicNL," visit this link for more steps.

Let me know once done.

Cheers,

Muddi

Done. But was unable to use the keywords: "GHT3 Unable to play ClassicNL,"

Hey WimAbbenhuis,

To confirm, are you experiencing issues sending feedback when you use the keywords? Please note that using the keywords provided will help us track the feedback easily.

Cheers,

Muddi

OK. send it again, now from the phone, including the keyword.

Hey WimAbbenhuis,

Thanks for all your efforts. Please note that it is best if you can send feedback from your Google Nest Hub itself because we need to get the crash reports from the device.

Cheers,

Muddi

But let us not forget that the problem is not in the device(s). I alone have 4 devices where it goes wrong..

Hey WimAbbenhuis,

We understand. Our main focus here is to get a crash log from the Google Home and Nest speakers and display, and it is best if you could send feedback on one of your devices.

@afix: I'll check that with the team, and get back to you for update.

Cheers,

Muddi

I tried to send the feedback from my Nest Hub and it does accept the "send feedback" voice command, but it constantly translates "GHT3" and "unable" to something completely different. I cannot manually modify the feedback text either. Is there another way to send feedback? Remember I am using Dutch voice commands.

I have added English (US) to my Google Assistant languages and when I now say "play classic nl" sometimes an English (female) voice responds saying "streaming 95.9 classical on tunein" and sometimes a Dutch (male) voice saying "ik stream classic nl op tunein", but in both cases it plays Radio Peyi A. Notice the difference between "95.9 classical" (English) and "classic nl" (Dutch). I never heard the "95.9" before but it seems to be Radio Peyi A (https://tunein.com/radio/Radio-Classic-FM-959-s245348). Classic NL (previously called ClassicFM) no longer broadcasts on FM. I tried to send feedback in English too and it works a little better, but it has difficulties with the "GHT3" as one word and "classic nl". Can you assign simpeler keywords without abbreviations?

Until 2days ago I could play Classic FM in Mexico. Now it can't find it

I do not understand why this has to take so long. The topic is more than three months old and there seems to be no progress what so ever. Others and I have been providing tons of information; it must be a very difficult problem that still nothing is achieved.

4 maanden verder en nog steeds radio peyi

4 months later, still radio peyi. Should I give up waiting for a solution. Seems it isn't get any priority at all

Agree!!

@Muddi Haven't heard from you since 22-07. Did you give up?

It's getting weird... It feels like they are just updating this thread without really trying to solve anything.

@Muddi@Princesss@Jake: can you please give us a status update?

In Mexico, I have not been able to stream ClassicNL, but finally after two months of getting Radio Peyi, I can stream Classic FM on my Nest Mini 2nd Gen. Global Player wouldn't work at all, only Tune-in, but now they both work.

WimAbbenhuis

@Muddi Hey Google people, in 4 weeks this topic is one year old. Isn't that a great moment to present a solution?

Well, seems like someone agreed because for me it works again. Whoever fixed it: THANK YOU!

Hey everyone, seems like someone fixed it because since yesterday I got Classic NL again when I ask my Nest for it.

It seems like there might have been a change in the voice command recognition or the default radio station associated with "ClassicNL" on your Google Nest Hub and Mini devices. Instead of playing ClassicNL, it now plays Radio Peyi A and displays Radio Classic FM. To workaround this issue, you have been using TuneIn on your iPhone to manually select and stream ClassicNL to your devices. It's possible that there has been an update or adjustment in the default settings or available radio stations on your devices.

Where is this coming from? The problem has been solved weeks ago. It took almost a year but it is fixed.
