Hello kliewyp,

Thanks for posting. A few questions: were you able to play Spotify music before? If yes, were there any recent changes made on your account? What country are you in?

Try to do these troubleshooting steps:

  • Open the Google Home app > Devices > Choose your Google Home device > Settings > Remove device > Remove.
  • Back to the Devices tab, scroll down to Other cast/Local devices > Tap your Google Home device > Add to a room. Follow the instructions in adding it back to your room.
  • Tap again on your Google Home device > Settings > Recognition and sharing. Toggle “Allow Personal results” off and on.
  • Retrain your voice match.

Regards,
Alex

Hi laurianna,

Thanks for posting in the Community.

Sorry to hear about this. This is not suppose to happen especially when your Spotify account is linked. Have you already tried asking it to play different music from other music provider? Let's try first to unlink your Spotify account from the Home app. After that, follow these steps.

  1. Make sure your mobile device or tablet is connected to the same Wi-Fi network or linked to the same account as your speaker or display.
  2. Open the Google Home app Google Home app.
  3. Tap your account.

Verify that the Google Account shown is the one linked to your Google device. If correct, tap to close the account window. To switch accounts, tap the triangle next to the Google Account, then tap another account or Add another account.

  1. Tap to close the account window
  2. Tap Settings .
  3. Under "Services," tap Music.
  4. To choose your default service, tap the music service you'd like to use. Assistant will use this service when you say “Hey Google, play music.”
If your music service isn't listed, make sure you've download the app and signed in.
  5. Under More music services, you can link and unlink other available services. Tap a service to link or unlink it.

Note: For all services, speakers and displays currently support a single account per streaming service.

Let me know if this works for you.

Best,

Princess
