Change connected devices ambient mode through google hub

I work in a coworking space where I manage about 20 screens, all with Chromecast playing Google slideshows. They usually all play the same thing, but occasionally, some rooms need to play a different slideshow than others. Instead of using google home on my phone to change the slideshows (since I have to be on the same wifi to make any changes), is there a way to change them using our in-office Google hub so if I'm not there anyone in the office will be able to change it without the google home app?

Hi thewolf613,

Thanks for reaching out! Are you referring to the Ambient mode on the Chromecast device, or the Photo frame on the Google Nest display?

If it is for the Chromecast, you can only change it from the Google Home app. While for the Google Nest Hub, you can do it on the display itself. Here’s how:

  1. From the bottom of your Google Nest display screen, swipe up.
  2. Tap Settings .
  3. Tap Photo Frame > adjust the settings you want.

If you have Voice Match enabled, you can also say “Hey Google, change Photo frame” to open Photo frame settings on your Nest display.

Regards,
Alex

Hi there,

I wanted to check and see if you are still in need of any help. Have you had the chance to try the suggestion above? If yes, how is it?

Best,
Alex
